These 8 Louisville bourbon bars named among the nation's best

The Bourbon Review has named its 101 best bourbon bars in the U.S., and eight Louisville bars are on the list.
Twenty-nine of the 100 bars are in Kentucky, including seven in Lexington.
Only one city, Chicago, had more bars — 10 — on the list than Louisville. New York City has six on the list, and San Francisco and Nashville, Tenn., each have four.
Here are the eight bars in Louisville that made the list:
Bourbons Bistro, 2255 Frankfort Ave.
Charr'd Bourbon Kitchen & Lounge, 1903 Embassy Square Blvd., in the Louisville Marriott East hotel
Derby Cafe, 704 Central Ave., at the Kentucky Derby Museum
Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar, 127 W. Main St.
Down One Bourbon Bar, 321 W. Main St.
Merle’s Whiskey Kitchen, 122 W. Main St.
Proof On Main, 702 W. Main St., in the 21c Museum Hotel
Silver Dollar, 1761 Frankfort Ave.
The criteria might seem a bit subjective: "Seemingly endless shelves that are lined of bottles both rare and common, stretching off into the horizon. They feature multiple cocktails that show off bourbon’s wide range of flavors, and they take pride in educating their patrons about the basics of brown water."
